Inglenook Staff

Tracy

NVQ 3, Food hygiene, Paediatric First Aid and Designated Safeguarding Lead.

I started in childcare when I first joined Inglenook in 2000.

When not working I enjoy going for walks, going out for nice meals and spending time with my family, and having 6 grandchildren they keep me very busy.

Why childcare – I enjoy helping children and guiding them as they explore, play and learn, seeing them grow and progress.

Diane - Baby room room manager

I am based in the Baby room and love seeing the little ones grow and learn though play, engaging with others, trying new activities and gaining confidence and independence.

Outside of work I watch my son play football and love meeting with friends and family.

Shebu

NVQ Level 3 in Childcare

I started in childcare in 2009 and joined Inglenook in August 2014. I work primarily in the Baby room and love the thought that I am helping give the children a helping hand in their first and valuable journey in life, watching as their social skills develop and they grow their own individual personalities. Outside of work life, I mainly spend time with my own family but do enjoy the gym, walking and swimming, and when allowed love travelling and exploring.

Food hygiene

Paediatric fist aid,

I started in childcare when I joined Inglenook in 2008 and although spent many year in the Toddler room, now work in the Pre School room as room manager.

Outside of Nursery I enjoy watching football even though I support Birmingham City!

I chose childcare as a career as I enjoy being around them, watching them do the various activities set for them, watching them smile and laugh with their friends and generally watching them develop.

Violeta - Nursery chef

I have been at Inglenook since 2016, where I first started work as cleaner but soon took over the kitchen and cook duties and have not looked back since. I love being around the children and seeing and hearing them smiling and laughing, and especially enjoying watching them enjoy my food.

Outside of work I am very close with my family and spend most of my time with them and friends, and when possible enjoy travelling to my home country of Albania to visit my family and other friends.

Ruth Lowe - Owner

I have always had a passion and love for children and I recall stating and thinking many times, while our daughter was at her Nursery, about improvements that could be made both on the customer service and care side. This combined with my wanting to be my own boss and be able to provide a quality service were the catalysts for our looking at and choosing to purchase Mereside Farm Children`s Nursery and then Inglnook nursery. I hold a paediatric first aid certificate, have a level 2 in Food Safety and a level 3 NVQ Diploma in childcare. When I have free time, I love spending time with my family and friends, I play the saxophone and clarinet and also sing in a big band which is something my Dad got me into many years ago, like going to the theatre, adore meals out and finally to try and keep fit and challenge myself I enjoy running, and have completed many half marathons and will be applying for the London Marathon for the last time in 2019, having not been allocated a space for 2013 to 2018.

Alan Lowe - Owner

Having spent many years in the corporate world and despite others stating to the contrary, it seems somewhat peaceful spending time at the Nursery, although Ruth & Terri do their best to disturb this peace and my plans with their numerous lists of jobs to be done here and there, and also encourage the staff and children to join in and gang up on me as well :-) Spending time at the Nursery though is great and although I'm not based in a room, I love seeing the children progress and grow up (very quickly). When I have the time and my body allows, I love cycling, swimming and going to the gym, in addition to watching sport and enjoy spending time with my family and socialising with friends, although as our daughter grows older my time seems to be taken up acting more and more as a Taxi driver.

Sky - Toddler room manager

I started my apprenticeship at 18 and qualified at 19, so have been quaified for 3 years. I started at Inglenook in April 2022 and am now room manager for the toddler room.

As I have a strong bond with my nieces and nephews I wanted to be able to participate in helping other little children grow up and have an impact in a child's early years of life.

In my spare time I spend time with my loved ones and like going for drinks and cocktails!!

Salika - lunchtime cover

I help out over lunchtime so the staff can have their lunch breaks!!

Loren - L3 Apprentice

I started at Inglenook in March 2023 and I am undertaking my L3 apprenticeship, although I have bee in early years since the summer of 2021.

I decided to work with children as I like the feeling of nursery nurses giving children a safe space to come to and I wanted to help children to be happy, healthy, loved and respected. Working with children isn't a job it's a gift. I love seeing all the smiling faces everyday as it always puts a smile on my face.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family.
